Augustinian Cup is an annual sporting event of the Basilica that is categorized to Basketball, volleyball, badminton, bowling and cheerdance competition. For almost four months starting in May, CAM was the organizer of this year's Augustinian Cup 2019.
At least 6 teams competed in the Cup, namely, St. Monica, St. Augustine, St. Nicholas, St. Rita, and St. Thomas. The different mandated organizations of the Basilica were divided into these five teams and the addition of a team from Colegio del Sto. Nino and the Provincial offices.
It began with a grand opening on May 11 at the Colegio del Sto. Nino with St. Nicholas Team bagging the championship for the cheer dance competition.
For basketball men, St. Monica, which is composed of the MCRI, BMSN Employees and Augustinian Friars, won the championship game against St. Claire, which is composed of the MAYA Security Agency, Choir organizations and BPAV. St. Monica also won the championship for the Volleyball men against St. Nicholas, which is composed of the volunteers of the Reflexologists.
For Volleyball women, St. Nicholas won the champion, who were undefeated in all their games until the championship.
The bowling event was held in SM Bowling Center and St. Nicholas won the category combining the scores of the men and women division.
As for the Badminton Tournament that was held in Abellana Sports Complex, Badminton court, St. Augustine won the men's double division, meanwhile, St. Nicholas won the women's double division.
Points were aggregated in all categories and division and St. Nicholas was declared as the overall champion of the Augustinian Cup 2019.
It was on August 22, 2019 that an Awards' Night was held at the grounds of the Sto. Nino Pilgrim Center. Prizes and trophies and ceritificates were all given on the night of the awards.
At the same time, the BMSN Creative Arts Ministry showcased their talents on the awards night bringing honor to the organization and the success of the Augustinian Cup 2019.
